Child Welfare

The Foundation has set up many Child Care centers for children who live below the poverty line across India. This center mainly focuses on the physical, emotional and psychological development of the children. The center organizes periodic health checkups and provides a warm and safe environment for the child’s overall development, thus, getting them ready for a formal education. The Vedanta Balchetna Aanganwadi Program operates in Karnataka, Odisha and Rajasthan with 2635, 478 and 500 centers respectively and serves around 1,40,000 students.
Additionally, since 15th September 1996, the Foundation has been running a Vedanta School for the Mentally Challenged in Vitthalwadi, Mumbai, where about 200 children have graduated till date. The school offers mid-day meals and provides a conducive environment for education and recreational activities that is necessary for the child's psychological growth. Most of our students have become financially independent supporting their family in their own little ways.
